TASK:
“Foreman is the coolest job on the construction site!” This is the message that the construction company Leonhard Weiss wanted to convey. Both externally for applicants and internally for career climbers.As a foreman, you have an overview of all construction activities on the construction site and thus have a complex and varied job. At the same time, however, you also have a lot of responsibility.
An area of tension for which Leonhard Weiss has to find exactly the right applicants. With an effective film.
CONCEPT:
For this recruiting film in the construction industry, we decided from the beginning to focus on the foremen. They are real doers with character and thus the ideal role models for their new colleagues. To show both their similarities and individuality, we portrayed three foremen on three very different construction sites in short videos. In addition, a complete film was created that combines the statements of the three into a compact overall picture of the profession.
To round off the formats, short hyperlapses were designed as social media content.
IMPLEMENTATION:
The team filmed on three construction sites throughout Baden-Württemberg. In the quietest possible places in the midst of construction noise, the foremen spoke openly and authentically about their work in the interview. Afterwards, the camera team accompanied her working day. The conditions on construction sites require a very flexible way of working from the whole team. Although you rotate the rapidly changing motifs dynamically, you have to pay attention to your own safety in the midst of large machines and construction waste.
On the largest construction site, a drone pilot flew with a small FPV drone. This makes the viewer feel as if he himself is flying past cranes and concrete slabs by only a few centimeters. In addition, we shot so-called hyperlapses in a time-consuming process. These are time-lapses in which the camera moves and thus captures the progress of the construction site dynamically and in new perspectives.
The same technique was used to portray the three foremen for social media.
SUCCESS:
The hyperlapse portraits of the foremen were used as thumbstoppers on social media. Both the individual portraits and the entire film are running very successfully on YouTube and Leonhard Weiß’s recruiting page. The feedback from the target group shows that the authentic and inspiring nature of the three protagonists is just as well received as the innovative staging of their everyday life on the construction site.
