A very specific product for a very specific target group.In the past, steel parts, which are indispensable in timber construction, had to be planned and manufactured at great expense. The startup S4T (Steel for Timber) is digitizing the industry and carpenters and engineers can now order suitable steel parts online with just a few clicks.
These benefits should be communicated in a video with a small budget.

CONCEPT:

In order to make a big film on a small budget, we focused entirely on the two archaic materials: steel and wood. That fits perfectly, because after all, that’s even the company name. “Steel for Timber” sounds like an action movie and that’s exactly how we stage the startup within the film. With the eloquence and imagery of a cinema trailer, he captivates the audience on the living room chair.

IMPLEMENTATION:

In order to stage steel and wood in a cinematic way, we shot in a locksmith’s shop and in a carpenter’s shop. With many detailed shots, high-contrast light and slow motion, you can feel the hardness of the steel and the feel of the wood. In order to show the end product with the combination of both materials, namely the steel components for timber construction, the film was also shot on a construction site. Here, large beams are combined with components and installed.
In the editing, all elements were cut together in the style of a cinema trailer. With black text boards and short texts that build up tension by dividing them into half-sentences and at the same time tell all the advantages of S4T. A strong sound design for the individual image elements and materials drives the trailer forward and a deep, distinctive voice emphasizes the action.

SUCCESS:

The film achieved over 40,000 views on YouTube and, thanks to the strong imagery, is also used as an eye-catcher in the header of the website .

The final film answers the question: “Can an image film be cinematic” with a loud “Yes!” and whets the appetite for a whole feature film about wood and steel. There is no such thing, but fans and interested carpenters should definitely stop by s4t.
