TASK:

At INTERNORM Kunststofftechnik, the products are colourful and the people are warm. The North German company manufactures a wide variety of plastic parts and rollers for the industry and this is exactly what both customers and potential applicants should experience through a film. This image film must skilfully stage both the inconspicuous products and factory halls, as well as the people.

CONCEPT:

INTERNORM. A name like an entry in the German patent register; Exactly, standardized, INTERNORM. We use the name and humorously play with the topics of norm and accuracy with a very dry speaker, thus giving the company the right mix of serious quality standards and humorous cordiality.

We also translated the content concept visually and created a completely unique world inside and outside the grey factory halls with symmetrical, precise shots.

IMPLEMENTATION:

A “standardised image film” needs a structured production. In just 3 days, we captured all the scenes with employees in front of the camera. The real employees give the film an authentic face and let the film “The Standardised Image Film” shine into the company.

Visually, the image film is inspired by the American director Wes Anderson: starting with the very symmetrical images and a clear color palette of red, gray and yellow to the strictly choreographed movements of the people.

Together with the warm, analogue colour scheme and an aspect ratio of 4:3, all this contributes to the “standardised” feeling of the image film and makes every step of the process exciting to watch.

A special highlight was the two-and-a-half-metre-high chandelier for the waltz scene. The massive showpiece was carefully pulled up on a cargo crane and wired to effectively illuminate the dancing couple underneath.

SUCCESS:

The standardised image film celebrated its premiere among INTERNORM employees and was published simultaneously on all channels. The reactions are consistently positive and with different edited versions, the film is used in a variety of ways, including for recruiting in local cinemas.

Parallel to the main film, we edited a making-of and various crisp clips for INTERNORM’s social media channels.
